Pink hair, don't care!

Well I must say it’s been quite a funny old weekend with the bank holiday passing me by in a fog of work commitments and family events. I mean is it even a bank holiday if you have to work two out of the three days?

Needless to say I felt very hard done by and insisted that nobody dare speak to me on Monday as I was spending the day on the couch having a Netflix binge and waiting for the first episode of 'Love Island 2019'.

I’m not even going to apologise for my love of this, what some might call, a show of questionable taste levels which sees body beautiful young people coupling up, recoupling and having general drama in a villa in Spain. What this essentially means for me, is that for the next two months, I will have zero social life except for constant messaging on my various Love island Whatsapp groups and I’ll have to rush home every evening from work, eat my dinner and get all my jobs done for the next day so that I can be on the couch ready to go for 9pm each evening.

Last year’s World Cup coverage threw an absolute spanner in the works delaying the show by up to an hour some evenings meaning I wasn’t getting to bed till 11pm some nights. As a non-night owl let me tell you that is very late indeed to be settling down after a drama filled show.

While you’d think looking at people in bikinis every night for the summer would motivate me to work out, it actually has the opposite effect, and I’ll just spend the two months planning what snacks are best for the viewing.

I’m also off to Edinburgh on Saturday morning to see the Spice Girls and you may remember I was unsure of what to wear. Anyway I’ve decided I don’t have time to be messing around with any type of elaborate costume because firstly, I am too busy to plan anything and secondly I feel old and uninterested in doing so.

I clearly have turned a corner in my life with my maturity levels when I’ve lost the will to get into costume but I have dyed my hair pink so I suppose it’s not time to hang up the party shoes just yet.

I’ve also checked the weather forecast and so far it looks like it’s going to be raining which absolutely sends me into a rage but fingers crossed this prognosis will have improved by the end of the week.

As we’re only going for one night, I’ll be able to pack quite a light bag which I’m very excited about and really I only need to bring something to wear to the concert and for sightseeing around Edinburgh the next day. I’m currently debating whether to wear a yellow shirt dress with orange sandals from M&S that I picked up a few weeks ago that is light and easy to wear, but might look a bit sedate when we go out after the concert, or go for straight leg jeans and a white blouse with a statement sleeve that I picked up recently from Crave Closet in Topshop.

The upside of this is that I can wear trainers and have a block heel in my bag for later on, or what will most likely happen is comfort trumps fashion, and I will end up quite happily wearing the trainers all night.

I know you’ll all be kept awake wondering what I’m going to wear so I’ll put you out of your misery next week and in the meantime, if you have any suggestions of places I need to go in Edinburgh, let me know on Instagram!
