One of the acts on Saturday night.

Gorgon City and co raise the roof at the Marquee

By Luke Crowley

At 5.30pm on Saturday evening, the buzz inside the Marquee was unbelievable with local DJ Patrick Lee kicking off proceedings.

The warm weather and the sun made an appearance just before the gig started which set the tone for the night ahead. At around 6pm Waze & Odyssey came onto the stage. They set the wheels in motion with the first song 'Bump and Grind', which got everyone jumping. They played much calmer music compared to the sets that followed, nevertheless the crowd loved it.

They played for roughly an hour and after 7pm Route 94 appeared. They opened up with a number of slower songs but soon transitioned to up-tempo songs. When their iconic song 'My Love' pumped out through the speakers, the crowd were ecstatic.

The visuals were amazing, and the lights and pyrotechnics for Route 94 helped them to be the most memorable act of the night by far, with plenty of crowd interaction which really set the tone for the fans, who were lapping up the performance from start to finish.

At about 8pm, it was the turn of Sonny Federa. Having not been Sonny's hugest fan previous to Saturday's gig, Saturday was the night that all changed with plenty of crowd pleasers from start to finish of the set - perfect for the night that was! At this point, everything was in full swing with the crowd jumping and belting out as many tunes as they could.

With a fantastic night coming to a close, the big act of the night - Gorgon City - did not disappoint. Coming on stage at about 9.15pm, they really went for it with confetti cannons, lasers and flares going off at every beat drop and a special mention to their strobe lighting, which made for a memorable finish to what was a brilliant evening.

Overall it was a great, well organised event, with perfect weather conditions and the buzz in the air certainly gave the crowd a night to remember
