Family fun at City Spectacular Festival

It is just under a month until Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular returns to Fitzgerald's Park. Running from 20-21 July, we've put together a list of family-friendly and fun activities to check out during the two day festival, which runs in Dublin on Merrion Square from 14-16 July.

1. The World’s Best Street Performers

Festival goers can marvel at the extraordinary feats of circus, sideshow and international street performance with a host of the world’s best talent!

Be sure to check out world famous sideshow celebrity and 55 time Guinness World Record holder The Space Cowboy who ingests razor sharp swords for starters, hammers six inch nails up his nose for his main course and washes it all down with his chainsaw juggling finale!

 

2. James Patrice

Dance, drum, jump and join in at Laya Healthcare’s It’s Good To Live family health and wellbeing hub. Social media superstar James Patrice hosts this action-packed area where you can travel back to the ‘80s and get into the groove with Retro Sweatro, enjoy high energy trampoline classes from Boogie Bounce, find your rhythm with Drum Nature and so much more.

 

3. Just Eat Street

Just Eat will once again tickle your taste buds with over 35 global flavours at the Just Eat Street, the international street food festival within Laya Healthcare's City Spectacular.

The Just Eat Waiter Service will be taking and delivering food orders for festival-goers, with world street foods including Arctic Stone, Umi Falafel, Market Burger, Pacheco Venezuelan Street Food, Garden of Vegan and many more.

 

4. Pet-acular Festival Area

No Laya Healthcare’s City Spectacular is complete without the p-awsome festival area Pet-acular with official festival charity partner DSCPA and Purina.

Mutt and man will enjoy doggy delights such as the DSPCA Scruffs dog show, dog training and agility demos with the DSPCA Dog Training Academy, pet health advice and some pet-acular surprises.

 

5. Volkswagen Playground

Be sure to stop by the fun filled Volkswagen Playground where adults and children alike can relax, play and soak up the summer sun! Explore the automotive themed playground with giant games, tyre swings, a bespoke collaborative mural plus much more.

 

6. Johnny Magory’s Explorer Storyland

Families can get creative in Johnny Magory’s Explorer’s Storyland where kids can explore their love of writing and adventure and join in on story-writing workshops. Kids can learn about Irish heritage, wildlife and culture.

 

7. Boogie Bounce

Enjoy high energy trampoline classes from Boogie Bounce for all the family. This interactive fitness workshop is designed to promote a fun, party like atmosphere to upbeat and inspiring music.

 

8. Lego Masters

Big and small can become the ultimate master Lego builder with Bricks 4 Kidz - Lego Masters where you will learn the basics of STEM and practice critical thinking, problem-solving and organisational skills - all while making cool Lego creations.

 

9. Kids Court

A festival favourite is the Kids Court where kids can get their own back at their parents! This interactive activity where kids rule the courtroom and will be putting parents on trial.

 

10. Tesco Baby and Parents Tent

The Tesco Parent & Baby tent is a little help from Tesco for mums or dads needing a breather during the festival.

Parents and little ones can relax in this quiet space which will be stocked with essentials to use from nappies to baby wipes to take care of all your little one’s needs.
