UCC’s artisan food course is open for October

Applications are now open for one of UCC's most specialized and coveted courses.

Since 2005, UCC’s Diploma in Speciality Food Production programme has provided education and training to more than 200 people working in the artisan and speciality food sector.

The course is set to continue this year with applications now open. The programme will start on 8 October and will run on a part-time basis until May 2020.

The programme is typically delivered two days a week every three to four weeks and consists of lectures in conjunction with practical demonstrations, case studies, site visits and workshops. Visits to artisan and speciality food producers are an integral part of the Diploma in Speciality Food Production programme.

Funding for the programme is available this year with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine to UCC again providing funding for the Diploma.

Application forms and more information can be obtained from Dr Angela Sheehan, a.sheehan@ucc.ie, or by visiting ucc.ie/en/fitu. The closing date for application is 18 September.
