Cork Dance Club's Ballroom and Latin American dance classes will move to a new home this autumn.

Cha cha chance a dance

One of Cork’s most popular dance classes will come waltzing into a new location this autumn.

The social ballroom and Latin American dance classes, run by the Cork Dance Club, will soon be transferring from the Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel to a new home at Brian Dillon’s GAA Club in Mayfield.

“We’re very excited about the move, as are our students. The GAA club has become a popular hub for ballroom dancing in the last few months,” said tutors Betty and Eddie.

Cork Dance Club looks to offer a variety of group dance classes for all levels in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

“Our aim is to ensure that you have lots of fun while learning a new skill and getting some exercise into the bargain,” said Eddie.

The lessons are delivered on a step by step basis and aim to build upon what students have already learned.

Cork Dance Club’s lessons encompass many different dance styles including, waltz, jive, quickstep, tango, cha cha cha, foxtrot, samba, rumba and many more. Students aged between 18 and 88 years old are invited to coma and explore the world of dance at Cork Dance Club.

“If you think your age has anything to do with your ability to dance, you’re wrong. We believe it’s never too early or late to fall in love with dance,” said instructor Anne Hurley.

Cork Dance Club’s new beginners’ classes commence on 10 September in Brian Dillon’s GAA Club Mayfield at 7.15pm and Bandon Rugby Club on 16 September at 7pm.
