With Christmas getting closer, now is the time to book your staff night out.

Do they know it’s (nearly) Christmas?

With fewer and fewer sleeps to Christmas, it is defintely time to start thinking about what you’ll do for your staff night out. Workplaces are already making arrangements to ensure they avoid disappointment and get the venue of their choice. It’s crucial to get in early and make that booking.

In recent years, many workplaces have opted to move away from the tired, old traditional Christmas parties and try something a bit different.

This adds more pressure to book a venue that can provide a memorable Christmas experience. After all, the entertainment can make the night, so it’s important to think outside of the (selection) box.

People often forget just how much fun a few drinks and a karaoke session can be. Music is an integral part of the festive season and Christmas is that one time of year where a back catalogue of classic festive tunes can be showcased. So why not belt out a cracking rendition of your favourite Christmas song, be it by Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, or The Pogues?

Why not spend your staff night out belly laughing through a live comedy gig? With a couple of venues throughout the city, there are live stand up and improv venues for comedy aficionados.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without ‘Home Alone’. But to avoid injuries and singed hair, perhaps an escape room experience might be more appropriate. Escape rooms have exploded as a way for a group of friends or colleagues to spend an evening and Cork has a number of venues that offer the experience.

If you fancy something a little more relaxed, an evening of fine dining might be more suitable. Get in early and book a nice restaurant for your group and spend a tranquil night chatting over a festive feast, mulled wine and maybe some mistletoe.

There are few things that encapsulate the festive season quite like ice skating. What could be more fun than seeing your co-workers sliding on the ice, whether it’s on their feet or not? As a group experience, ice skating offers a tremendous way to get your staff night off to a rolling (or skating) start.

Whatever way you choose to spend your Christmas night out, it’s best to book soon. With the hard work out of the way, you and your colleagues can get busy rockin’ around the Christmas tree!
