Jewellery thief appears in court

A man has appeared before Cork City District Court this morning in connection with a burglary which took place yesterday in the city.

At approximately 4.30pm yesterday, a man entered a house in Barrett’s Terrace in Gurranabraher through a downstairs window and stole a number of items of jewellery.

Gardaí patrolling the area received a report of the burglary and stopped a suspicious looking man who was found to be in possession of the stolen jewellery.

The man in his 30s was arrested and brought to Gurranabraher Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He appeared before Cork City District Court at 10.30am this morning.
