Slew of acts Marquee bound

Summer 2020 is set to be a busy one for music lovers.

A host of huge acts were added this week to an already stellar line up at Live at the Marquee 2020.

Among the newly announced acts for the final incarnation of Live at the Marquee is a performance by singer-songwriter superstar, Dido. Having sold more than 40 million albums to date, she is the latest superstar act to be added to the final marquee line-up. Her smash hit ‘No Angel’ remains the top-selling debut by a British female artist worldwide. Dido will take to the stage Live at the Marquee Cork on Wednesday 10 June.

Orbital have been added to the roster with a performance, plus special guests Kerri Chandler, Berlin-based Irish duo Brame and Hamo, Fish Go Deep, and Stevie G. The gig will take place on Saturday 20 June. Orbital will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with the Orbital 3.0 tour to coincide with a new album of the same name, featuring new music and remixes of the classics.

It’s been a meteoric rise for Johnny Smacks and Johnny B, better known as the hosts of the 2 Johnnies podcast. Their weekly insight into the world of Gaelic games, pop culture and riding have garnered them over a quarter of a million listeners each week and sold out live shows from LA to Salthill. Now they take all the madness and mayhem on stage for the biggest Irish live podcast show ever. The 2 Johnnies Podcast: Summer Jam will take place on Saturday 30 May.

Other acts announced this week include Sinéad O’Connor on Friday 5 June, The National on Monday 8 June, comedian John Bishop on Thursday 18 June and Crowded House on Monday 29 June.

Tickets for Dido, Orbital and John Bishop go on sale today, Thursday, at 9am while tickets for The National go on sale tomorrow at 9am. The 2 Johnnies tickets will be on sale on 6 December at 10am, and Sinéad O’Connor on Monday 9 December at 9am.Tickets for Crowded House are on sale already.
