The animated web series ‘Poxy Bleedin Shop’ is based on a Cork off license and its customers.

A license to swill

The web series, ‘Poxy Bleedin Shop’ draws from creator Thomas Quain’s first hand experiences of working in an off license in Cork.

Each episode features a cast of colourful characters based on the customers Thomas encountered on a daily basis during his time at the off license, addressing themes such as drug and alcohol abuse, as well as homelessness.

The series stars a host of familiar Irish names in comedy including Cork's own Tadhg Hickey, the man behind the extremely popular recent ‘Brexit, but it’s a home share in Cork’ video.

Other well-known names to lend their voice to the series include Karl Spain, Owen Colgan, Emma Doran and Bernard Casey.

The second season of ‘Poxy Bleedin Shop’ is currently available to watch online on Facebook and YouTube.
