Elegant womenswear and luxury fabrics

Aside from that all went well. It was so nice to be away for a few days and even better to be back doing photoshoots.

I really had missed being part of a creative team so it was lovely to be able to catch up with people also working in the industry.

Of course, the day of the shoot it was absolutely bucketing it down as we stood by a cliff in the Burren and I obviously had decided to remain positive and pay literally no heed to the weather forecast and didn’t pack a raincoat but thankfully someone on the team had a spare so I wasn’t too bad. It’s also made me realise I need to keep a hat and some raingear in the car for such occasions but hey we live and learn!

It really does feel like we are getting back to some normality though as on Saturday I was invited to the new showroom for Lings collection which is a new Cork based boutique specialising in elegant womenswear.

It was so nice to browse the collections and meet one or two other people who I hadn’t seen in well over a year. Boutique owner Ling Ling hand picks her selection of pieces in luxury fabrics such as silk, cashmere and leather.

Indeed, I spotted a gold metallic leather bag that almost made its way home with me. She also works closely and directly with the manufacturer to edit designs so that they fit with her vision of classic style with a twist.

Think cashmere cardigans with subtle embellishments and silk camisoles with a touch of lace. Timeless pieces that can be mixed and matched year round.

Lings collection boasts a range of styles and textures in a unique colour palette of rich earthy tones and her aim is to bring wearable glamour to Cork at a competitive price.

I definitely felt the luxe and understated glamour from the pieces and there was an almost 1970’s off duty model vibe to the clothes with some jewel tones complementing the more neutral palette.

There were numerous pairs of light velvet and velour wide leg trousers that are just the perfect replacement for the joggers we’ve all gotten so used to wearing giving an elevated loungewear feel to some of the collection.

There’s also a great selection of gold accessories which of course add the perfect finishing touch to your look as well as a fabulous selection of printed silk scarves.

The collection will be available to shop online, as well as through appointments in the showroom which is based in Mill View House, Victoria Cross. The fabulous Sarah Corcoran will also be on hand for one-on-one styling sessions which I will definitely be booking in for as you can enjoy some styling in the comfort of this gorgeous new showroom.

It’s such a lovely way to shop for those classic pieces that will be part of your wardrobe for years to come.
