Welcoming old and new friends at The Montenotte Hotel

By Geraldine Fitzgerald

It's all hands on deck in The Montenotte Hotel as it reopened yesterday, Wednesday.

Over the past year, the hotel made great use of the time to pour investment into the property, enhancing standards, developing enticing new summer offerings, and introducing new services such as call and collect afternoon tea and The Montenotte Vintage Van Café.

“Our industry has taken an enormous hit over the past year”, acknowledged Brian Bowler, General Manager.

“We faced these challenges early and spent this time wisely, talking to our customers, investing in developing the team and strengthening our offering.

“Due to restrictions, many of our guests last season were from the city or county, which gave them the opportunity to explore the region as tourists for the first time. The feedback from these ‘taycations’was phenomenal and influenced our range of offerings for the summer season - linking our guests with the best experiences in Cork. Perfect for those for adventure, romance or a well-deserved relaxing break.”

The Montenotte’s Ultimate Luxury Getaway is their jewel in the crown this summer. It’s a three night, truly extraordinary romantic break, where you don’t even have to set foot out of the hotel’s extensive grounds if you so wish.

A chilled bottle of bubbly signals the start of the experience, with reserved dining on two of the evenings in the Panorama Bistro where you can watch the sunset over the harbour.

This package includes a gin cocktail making class made with The Montenotte’s own limited edition Botanical Gin, and a rejuvenating spa treatment.

On an evening of your choice explore the city, perhaps taking a walk along the quays to the riverside gardens of Fitzgerald’s Park to bounce over the famed ‘Shaky Bridge’.

Take a wander across the bay to Blackrock Castle or venture further afield to explore the nearby coast or countryside – there is so much to discover in Cork city and county.

To complete the stay, guests can enjoy a personal training session in Motion Health Club along with a self-guided tour of the museum at Nano Nagle Place with an ambassador offering background information before the start.
