Ballincollig Regional Park is one of many reasons to visit the bustling town.

Ballincollig is open again!

There’s an undeniable buzz around Ballincollig at the moment as normality continues to return to our everyday lives.

One of the new additions to our city after the 2019 boundary extension, the town has a lot to offer visitors with its many restaurants, pubs, shops, cafés and outdoor spaces.

Right at the heart of the town, just off the main street, you’ll find the CastleWest Cork shopping centre where all businesses are now open again.

The centre contains over 20 outlets, cafés and salons and has 500 covered parking spaces that are free of charge.

Once you’ve shopped all you can, why not treat yourself and the family to a movie at the Reel Picture cinema which is now showing new releases like 'Fast and Furious 9', 'In The Heights' and 'Peter Rabbit 2'?

After sitting down for a few hours, you might want to stretch your legs and shake off the popcorn crumbs at the Ballincollig Regional Park with its numerous paved walkways, picnic areas and woodland trails.

The park is also home to the Ballincollig Royal Gunpowder Mills which made gunpowder for the British government during the Napoleonic Wars.

You’ll surely be hungry after all that and Ballincollig is a good place to be when you’re hungry. How about a juicy steak at the River Club, or maybe some ribs at the White Horse? The choice is yours.

There’s also a Nepalese and Indian Restaurant called Coriander which comes highly recommended.

The White Horse of course, is one of Cork's finest music venues too, once gigs finally return!

Whether you’re coming from the county or the city centre, a day in Ballincollig is truly a day very well spent.
