Fancy going off the grid?

A Cork homeowner has decided to put their (not so) tiny eco home up for raffle at just €10 a ticket!

This mobile, off-grid, eco-friendly house measures 25ft long, 8ft wide and 14.5ft high and comes with a lifetime guarantee from the manufacturers.

The build was commissioned by the current owners a year and a half ago and consists of an open plan kitchen/living room with underfloor heating, and a ‘Hobbit’ wood burning stove.

The bathroom contains a large shower and a high-spec, odourless composting loo.

A staircase with storage leads to two double bedrooms with head height in the upper floor of up to six feet in the mezzanine bedroom and five feet seven inches in the private bedroom, which are interconnected by a landing.

The house is comfortable and spacious inside and with a pull out sofa bed, can sleep up to six people.

This off-grid house comes with four large separate solar panels connecting through a utility box containing the Smart Victron Energy System with six large batteries.

The same utility box contains a water tank and boiler.

The house can also be plugged into mains electricity if necessary.

Tickets for the raffle are €10 with five per cent of all proceeds to be shared between Cork Penny Dinners and Cork Simon.
