Oíche mhaith

There’s a new Irish skincare range founded by sisters who are passionate about reviving the ancient knowledge of our ancestors.

Oíche Apothecary is the brainchild of Lorna Stewart and Aisling Boyle and the range contain 100 per cent organic Irish peat, locally and ethically sourced. Ireland is known worldwide for its beautiful, abundant landscape, yet little is known about our precious peat bogs.

Cloaked in folklore for thousands of years, these bogs hold a special place in Irish hearts. The Midnight Dew Sheet Mask is a brightening, hydrating peat mask containing frochán - also known as bilberry or huckleberry - which is one of the most potent natural antioxidants, and when applied to the skin, reduces redness and promotes a calming effect.

The Twilight Dreams Sheet Mask is a tightening, hydrating peat mask containing Lady’s Mantle, a plant used since medieval times for its medicinal properties. These include helping to fight visible signs of ageing and protecting against free radicals to prevent the loss of skin elasticity, while also helping to reduce pore size and redness.

Alongside Lorna’s and Aisling’s passionate quest to bring ethically-produced products to the skincare market, the sisters have a huge focus on environmental principles and animal welfare.

They also have strong business backgrounds. Lorna has a background in compliance within the investment and financial services industry while Aisling is an investment professional, dealing extensively with companies who meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, an ethos which she is focused on bringing to their own business.

The company’s logo is Púca, the guardian of the bog.
