Make Myo Cafe your refuge in the city

Myo cafe is a cosy, chilled out river-sed haven in Cork city. Staff at the cafe are all about fostering a sense of community, as well as a relaxed atmosphere.

The cafe was opened in 2014 but the building has a rich history, and has been central to the local community for decades.

The blue building used to be a home, a pub, a sweetshop, and finally a junk shop - in fact, some of the gems that decorate the walls came from that very junkshop!

The cafe retains the history of the building and since 2014 staff have worked to create a space that could be a centre for community again, a place where people of all walks of life could come and chat and swap ideas and news.

Each element of the space has been carefully designed and crafted to foster a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Being a student is tough - and they want to support you as much as they can. They offer a student discount, as well as a discount when you bring your own cup. They also run a loyalty service so you can grab some free treats every now and then!

They also have a great selection of healthy (but delicious) snacks to keep you going as you study. Their Peanut Butter Squares are to die for, and they have some great protein-packed energy balls and vegan, raw flapjacks. Pair these with a coffee and you’re unstoppable!

As summer turns into autumn, Myo is a great spot to watch the seasons change - sitting by the river and watching autumn leaves tumble from the trees into the water - it’s a lovely spot.

Myo can be your space to take a moment from hectic student life - a moment to stop, breathe, and check in with yourself. A moment to have a chat with a stranger, to recharge. College is challenging - look after each other, and look after yourself!
