You can't beat a sweep of colour

As predicted colour and glam has made a mega comeback and I for one am here for it. While subtle colour and nudes are great, I think for winter you cannot beat a sweep of colour across the lids or along the lash line.

The jewel tones of emerald, sapphire and ruby have made a massive impact on my makeup choices for the upcoming jazz and festive season. Playing it safe is not for AW21.

Here I have handpicked some of my favourite launches and they are suitable for all levels of skill. Remember make up is fun and can always be fixed. I love experimenting on time off to create new looks.

Cheeks

Huda Glo Wish Cheeky Blush is velvety blush with a marbled formula developed to give all skin tones a beautifully natural, fresh-faced flush of colour and a soft-focus glow. It comes in four shades. Infused with antioxidants and skin-loving ingredients this non-powdery, skin-blurring blush gives your cheeks a silky wash of colour that’s super buildable! Tip - You can use an angled blush to be on trend or just pop it on the apples of your cheeks for a more classic look.

Eyes

Make applying eyeshadow simple and easy with this collection of creamy eyeshadow sticks designed to glide easily onto your eyelids. AYU’s Cream Eye Shadow Pencil Set (€60 for set of six) is great for precision and definitive lines or for an all over quick, fuss free application. No mess, no hassle! These fast setting, crease-proof and perfectly pigmented eye shadows are designed for long wearing colour that will take you from day to night. The colours included in this set are burgundy, olive, plum, white gold, bronze and dusty pink. These pencils are available to purchase individually also and retail at €12.

Meanwhile AYU has selection of luxurious, richly pigmented eye shadow palettes that offer a selection of shades in smooth matte and soft satin finishes streamlined to include everything you need to create a beautiful modern eye look. To complement the best-selling Signature and Glamour palettes, two brand new additions have recently been added to the range. These are the Emerald Eye Shadow Palette and the Sapphire Eye Shadow Palette.

My tip for eyes is to use the lower lash line as the place for the colour pop if you are nervous about using it all over the lid.

Lashes

The Essence Lash Princess Curl & Volume mascara is the latest addition to the popular mascara range and a real eye-catcher with its unique design and catchy pink colour code.

The true highlight is the peanut-shaped brush. Similar to the shape of a peanut, the fibre brush is narrow in the middle and wider at the ends. This provides the lashes on the outer and inner corners of the eye with extra texture and makes them look even fuller – for a perfect curl and fantastic volume.

Doubling it up with the new, innovative Double Trouble mascara in a super bold design offers everything that beauty lovers dream of in a mascara in one product. Because sometimes, one mascara just isn't tnough, this innovative two-in-one brush has two ends. One elastomer side for extra volume and an endless look and a fibre side for definition and curl.

Tip - Use the waterproof version if you have leaky eyes or a commute to work.
