Leeside to light up Irish screens

Two Cork families are going ‘sled to sled’ on TV this weekend to see who can create the best Christmas spirit on their street.

The festive two-part special ‘Battle of the Christmas Lights’ will challenge the Murphys and O’Mahonys to become Ireland’s Christmas Lights champions.

The show will see them take part in a series of Christmassy challenge like decorating the outside of their houses, Yuletide baking, and decorating a Christmas tree within an hour time limit.

The two families will also try to outdo each other by setting the perfect Christmas table.

The final and most exciting of the challenges will be the Big Light Up Challenge where the families must light and decorate the outside of their houses like never before.

Mom Noreen, daughter Lily (11), son Danny (10) and aunty Áine lead the way for team Murphy while mom Jess, dad Evan, and their kids, Harvey (6) and Darcy (2) fly the flag for the O’Mahony team.

Only one team will win the battle. To find out who will win, tune into the second part of the show which will air at 7pm on Saturday on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player. May the Christmas-iest family win!
