Green light for apartment project

A vote was recently passed unanimously by Cork county councillors giving permission for a planning application for a major residential development in Bandon.

The proposed development would see an existing 150 metre squared house and garage known as the Mart House in Bandon town be demolished and 45 residential units be constructed in its place.

The 45 units will comprise of 21 two-bedroom ground floor apartments, 23 three-bedroom duplex apartments, and one single storey two-bedroom unit.

The development will also include associated carparking, draining works, play area, bicycle parking and bin storage, a council report said.

The vote for the granting of a planning application required three-quarters of elected members to vote in favour to be passed.
