Dublin singer-songwriter Gavin James will kick off his Irish headlining tour with two shows on Leeside early next year.

He’s Gavin a laugh

Irish singer-songwriter and global hit-machine Gavin James will kick off his new tour with two massive shows at Cork Opera House in April.

The tour will coincide with the release of James’ third studio album and will see him play in venues the country over.

In his short but dazzling career, the Dubliner’s songcraft has amassed 1.5 billion streams, six million monthly listeners on Spotify, and 32 platinum and gold records.

James has played with the likes of Niall Horan, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, as well as completing his own sold-out world tour which finished up just before the pandemic hit.

Since then, the man behind hit singles ‘Always’ and ‘Nervous’ has released his number one Irish album and airplay-charting ‘Boxes’ in 2020.

His tireless international touring has resulted in more than 250,000 ticket sales for his headline shows across the world, including two nights at Dublin’s 3Arena. In November, he made a return to performing live when he played to 40,000 people in Switzerland.

James is currently in the process of finishing his third album in time to kick off 2022 by headlining the New Year’s Days festival at Dublin Castle before joining James Blunt on his UK arena tour starting on 3 February, followed by his Irish headline tour dates in April.

He is set to bring air filters on tour with him to ensure all steps are taken to make his Irish gigs safe for his staff and fans next year. He has teamed up with Irish company Mia Air to bring their HEPA Filtration Systems with him.

The portable systems will be used to ensure the safety of his crew and staff during the tour and where suitable and practical will also be used in the venues during the concerts.

James plays Cork Opera House on 2-3 April.
