Body of man discovered on Dunbar Street

The body of a man was discovered in unexplained circumstances this morning at a house on Dunbar Street in Cork city.

The scene has been cordoned off and preserved and the Garda Technical Bureau are conducting a technical examination. The services of the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested.

At around 10.15am, gardaí were alerted to the discovery of a body lying at the rear of a property on Dunbar Street. The body remains at the scene.

The cause of death is unknown at the moment and gardaí are unwilling to comment further.

Gardaí say the results of the post-mortem examination will determine the course of the garda investigation.
