Pretty sweet finds in the new Sugarhill collection

Well I’m back from holidays feeling refreshed and ready to face the rest of the year.

I can strongly recommend an end of January break especially to the sun as it has cleared the cobwebs away. We had such a relaxing time and while it was a little bit chilly to have a dip in the pool or lie out, it was perfect for walking and sitting outside having coffees and people watching.

I always find it so funny how differently people on holidays and people who are living in the country dress.

I was wearing sandals and summer clothing with a light jacket for evening while the locals were wrapped up in hats, scarves and heavy coats. I probably looked crazy but I only really felt the cold at night time when it got a bit breezy.

If anyone is about to go on holidays, I would highly recommend bringing trainers and a jacket and if I was packing again, I probably would have brought more joggers to wear with t-shirts.

Needless to say even with all my careful planning, I still managed to overpack and we had to buy an extra bag to check in because I may have done a little bit of shopping while I was over there.

I love a vintage shop while I’m away, so I picked up a fab jacket for the spring in a cool vintage print, a very Versacesque black leather belt that was a bargain at €12 and a real leather black waistcoat that I will layer over my dresses this spring.

I also found a really nice shop along the promenade and picked up some joggers I know I’ll get great wear out of and a couple of hoodies. I’m still focusing more on my casual wardrobe but to be fair it’s all I’m wearing at the moment in this funny period between the seasons.

It’s so hard to know what to wear as it can be cold one day and warm the next and all the lovely new stock is starting to filter into the shops.

If I was just going on my holidays now I would definitely be picking up a few pieces from the new Sugarhill collection at Silk Peaches boutique.

There is fabulous knitwear that will keep you warm but in beautiful bright colours and in summery prints like rainbows and palm leaves that you could easily throw on with denim shorts or wear at home with your jeans and layer under a blazer or jacket.

There’s also some fab dresses that would work perfectly with sandals or trainers and again can be layered up depending on the weather. One of my favourite items to have in the wardrobe is a jumpsuit and the Billy Boilersuit is a must have. It’s a lovely khaki green colour which means it will suit most people and can be worn dressy with some cool block heels or worn with a pair of trainers.

I would also wear it now a printed roll neck top underneath but will throw a blazer over it for a night out option. Make that holiday wardrobe work for you at home and away!
