The webinar will present works from women of various religious backgrounds working towards peace.

Faiths coming together

Women’s interfaith groups from Ireland and Nigeria will come together in Cork ahead of International Women’s Day 22 for a webinar celebrating women working for peace.

Women in Faith – Working Together for Peace will be hosted by the Three Faiths Forum Cork and will present the work of the two interfaith groups.

The Irish group, Dublin-based Sisters of faith for Peace, are an interfaith group who seek to nurture peace and reconciliation in a diverse and multi-cultural Ireland.

The second group, The Women’s Interfaith Council, is based in Kaduna in Northern Nigeria and is made up Christian and Muslim women. In recognition of its work toward peace and women’s empowerment in a situation where interreligious conflict, intolerance and violence are frequent realities, the group was awarded the Aachen Peace Award for 2021.

Following presentations from both groups, there will be an Q&A opportunity for those attending the webinar.

The webinar takes place on 1 March from 7-8.15pm. Registration for the event is free and a link to register can be found on the Three Faith Forum Cork Facebook page.
