I was delighted to work on a new campaign

A new season always gets me sartorially inspired and even more so when I’m styling a shoot.

I was delighted to be back styling for Opera Lane for their new spring fashion campaign and whilst doing research for the season ahead, I’m always on the lookout for pieces I can include in my own wardrobe.

It was so nice to be back shooting with the fabulous photographer Gill @gillybeangirl and with Ciara B from Assets Models all in the beautiful surrounds of the Imperial Hotel which really lent itself as a great backdrop to the glamorous clothes from the Opera Lane stores.

While pulling looks for the shoot, four key stories really stood out for me and that was colour pop suiting, dresses, neutral earthy tones and casual denim.

If it’s colour you’re after, Opera Lane has it in spades and so many amazing pieces really caught my eye.

A lime green suit was a particular favourite that could be toned down with a classic white blouse or black bodysuit underneath or worn with a bright print to really make a style statement.

One piece I wanted to bring home with me was a blue, green and pink longline boucle jacket from River Island which I styled over an all white outfit for a dressy summer feel.

I would personally wear it over light or white denim or even thrown over a simple t-shirt dress.

Accessories are also extremely bright this season and a blue boxy shoulder bag from River Island would add a welcome pop of colour to even the simplest outfit.

Another big style story and on the completely opposite scale was a more neutral and earthy toned vibe. Keep the look completely tonal and layer your creams and beiges adding different textures for visual interest like a light crochet style cardigan.

Lucky for us leopard lovers the print works so well with this type of look and a leopard print tote from H&M completes the look. An animal print dress in shades of beige and light sage green is also a great piece to have in your wardrobe and would work so well with nude Mary-Janes from Office and a cream blazer or with tan accessories come the summer.

Now it wouldn’t be a new season photoshoot without a nod to dresses or denim, two things which feature so heavily in our wardrobes. Spring is always a fantastic time to pick up a dress and there’s a style for everyone available.

New Look have an electric blue, silky animal print style which is super budget friendly but when paired with a heel and bag looks super expensive and a red dress from Next while being super simple in shape gets a total revamp when paired with blue heels and a bag.

It's really all about playing around with accessories to create your own personal style. I also love some denim, it’s just so versatile and spring is a good time to lighten the shade you’re wearing.

A straight leg light wash denim looks so fresh styled with a stripey sweatshirt and a block heel and you can add some colour with a red handbag or lip.

Denim and a great trench also go hand in hand this season and H&M have the perfect one that won’t break the bank. I bought a similar one here years ago and I still pull it out every spring.

Smart shopping always pays off.
