The Cork Zine Festival returns next month on 3 and 4 December for its fourth year.

Have you ever zine anything like it?

A very cool and quirky festival will have its fourth outing on Leeside next weekend.

On 3 and 4 December, Cork Zine Fest will welcome zine artists to share their work and celebrate all things small and papery at the local social art space The Living Commons on Shandon Street.

What’s a zine you ask? Apparently shortened from the word ‘fanzine’, a zine is a self-published, often hand-crafter booklet filled with all sorts of cool things that relate to a specific topic.

The Cork Zine Fest celebrates all forms of paper based delights and is looking for the weird and the wonderful zine and artist book makers to answer its open call.

The market is open from 11am-4pm both days and everyone is welcome to come and peruse the art and meet the artists and makers behind the zines.

The Living Commons on Shandon Street is easily accessible from the city centre and there are lots of small businesses nearby for food and coffee.

There will be a free, ticketed evening event on the Saturday from 6.30-9pm. Partnering with Good Day Cork, Cork Zine Fest will bring zines to life through an interactive performance. This is a chance to learn more about artist publishing and to be part of a new piece of artwork. Booking is essential as there are limited numbers.
