Please, Sir Rod, we want some more

British superstar Sir Rod Stewart will return to Leeside this summer to play Live at the Marquee 2023.

Returning to the venue for the first time in 14 years, Rod will take to the stage on 20 June, with tickets going on sale next Thursday at 9am. The concert, along with the full Live at the Marquee 2023 line-up was announced this morning by Aiken Promotions.

Announcing Sir Rod’s return, promoter Peter Aiken said the “football mad” singer will be eager to see Cork’s sports facilities during his time on Leeside, before recalling an encounter with him at his last Live at the Marquee performance.

“I was standing at the bottom of the stage and he just walked past me and said, ‘Nights like this are the reason I got into the business’.”

Often lauded as the finest singer of his generation, Rod Stewart is one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music, with an estimated 250 million records and singles sold worldwide.

A 2 time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and New York Times bestselling author, Rod was knighted in 2016 by Prince William at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity, becoming Sir Rod Stewart.

Other acts already confirmed for Live at the Marquee 2023 are My Therapist Ghosted me, The Frames, Aitch, Tommy Tiernan, Olly Murs, Bell X1, Mimi Webb, Christy Moore, and Jenny Greene and The RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Tickets for Rod Stewart Live at the Marquee 2023 will go on general sale next Thursday 9 February at 9am from ticketmaster.ie.
