Protect and prevent for Melanoma Awareness Month
Temperatures are creeping up, the sun is shining a little and we are hoping for a warm summer.
May is Melanoma Awareness Month so I just wanted to touch on the importance of looking after your skin in the warmer weather.
SPF is non-negotiable all year round but is even more important while the sun is out, and we are exposing more of our limbs.
About 1,200 people are diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer each year in Ireland.
Everyone is at some risk of developing melanoma.
However, your risk may increase depending on factors such as sun exposure, number of moles on the skin, skin type and family history (genetics).
The safest thing to do is ensure that you are religious about SPF.
The tinted one
