Golf classic confirms new sponsor

The upcoming Glen Rovers/St Nick’s Annual Golf Classic fundraising event will have a new sponsor for 2023.

Irish athletics and leisure clothing designer Gym+Coffee will lend its considerable support to this year’s event which is a hugely important fundraiser for both clubs.

The golf classic will take place on 30 June at Fermoy Golf Club, inviting teams of 3 to come and compete for the top prize.

Gym+Coffee was founded by, among others, Niall Horgan, a former dual player with St Nick’s/Glen Rovers, who also had the unique honour of captaining both Cork minor teams during his career.

At the official launch last week, Niall expressed his delight at being in a position to give something back to a club he enjoyed many a great day and night with and wished the event every success.

Michael Byrne, Chairman of St Nick’s, and John O’Callaghan, President Glen Rovers, thanked Niall for his support which they agreed would ensure the golf classic would be a huge success.

Entry for teams of 3 costs €250 and includes a meal.

A number of slots are still available, however, teams interested in taking part are urged to sign up as soon as possible as the time sheet is filling up quickly.

The event’s ‘Nearest to the Pin’ prize is sponsored by the Rochestown Park Hotel.
