Cillian Murphy’s new film ‘All of This Unreal Time’ will premiere at this year’s Sounds from a Safe Harbour festival.

Cillian Murphy movie to premiere in Cork

The upcoming Sounds from a Safe Harbour Festival (SFSH) has unveiled exciting additions to its lineup which will take place in various venues across Cork City from 7 to 10 September.

A highlight of the event will be the Irish premiere of the film 'All of This Unreal Time', featuring Cork actor Cillian Murphy. This premiere will be followed by a Q&A session with the creative team.

The festival promises four days of music, dance, literature, theatre, and conversations. With a mix of ticketed and free events, it is curated by Festival Director Mary Hickson, Bryce and Aaron Dessner from The National, Cillian Murphy, and playwright Enda Walsh.

A collaboration between the Abbey Theatre and Sounds from a Safe Harbour is set to present 'Untitled Song Cycle,' by Enda Walsh and Anna Mullarkey. This theatre piece, sung by Aoife Duffin and featuring projections by Jack Phelan.

The ethereal 'Liminal Soundbath,' hosted by American composer and musician Alex Somers, promises a unique sensory experience in the Marina Market's tranquil setting on 9 September at 10pm.

Musicians Rónán Ó Snodaigh and Myles O'Reilly will join forces to perform songs from their new album 'The Beautiful Road,' blending folk, traditional, and ambient music on 9 September.

Adding to the festival, the SFSH Festival Club will come to life on Friday and Saturday night at The Pavilion on Carey's Lane. DJ Sally Cinnamon will host a night of music and entertainment, featuring special guests.

Festival Director Mary Hickson expressed her excitement about the upcoming event, emphasising that this year's SFSH promises to be the most expansive yet. Attendees can expect plenty of surprises and unique experiences that capture the spirit of creativity thriving in Cork.
