ALDI is creating 72 jobs in its stores in Cork as part of a national campaign to recruit 340 employees.

Aldi to create new 72 jobs in Cork

The German supermarket chain currently has a network of 160 stores across the country. 26 of these stores are within Cork.

Aldi operates a regional distribution centre and an office facility in Mitchelstown, and has a workforce of 4,650 people throughout the country.

Recruitment is currently underway and Aldi is keen to fill positions as soon as possible as the company continues to open new stores and sees an increase in customer demand across its existing store network. Vacancies include both roles at new stores and filling existing vacancies.

Aldi increased its hourly pay rates earlier this year, paying all store assistants up to €16 an hour, with an entry rate of €13.85 an hour.

Commenting on the expansion, Brian O’Shea, HR Director at Aldi Ireland, said: “Aldi has continued to grow in 2023 and to invest in new stores, and now we’re looking for hundreds more colleagues to join our teams across the country ahead of Christmas, including 72 new jobs in county Cork.

“Working at Aldi means a great working environment and real opportunities to progress within the business and we look forward to welcoming even more people to be a part of our team and our success in the future.”
