Body discovered in Macroom

Gardaí have today said they are investigating all of the circumstances following the discovery of a body in Cork this afternoon.

The man’s body was found at a residence in Macroom at 1pm.

The body of the man in his 60s remains at the scene and the office of the State Pathologist have been notified.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “A post-mortem examination will be arranged, the results of which will determine the course of the garda investigation. The scene is currently preserved for a forensic and technical examination.”
