New website for Ballincollig

The chairperson of a business group in Ballincollig has said its new website will help support local businesses, encourage local shopping and promote ongoing initiatives in the town.

Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr Kieran McCarthy and Ballincollig Business Association, which operates on a voluntary capacity, launched its new website this week called Ballincollig.ie.

Speaking at the launch at City Hall, Emer Cassidy, Chairperson of the Ballincollig Business Association said: “We are delighted to be launching this new website which is an ultra-professional platform on which to promote the town both locally and regionally. A recent National Enterprise town winner, Ballincollig is a bustling hub and home to 25,000 people with a beautiful Regional Park adjacent to the town centre.

“As one of the key business and community groups located on the fringes of Cork city, we aim to make Ballincollig a destination location for shopping and relaxation as well as a great place to do business. The website includes a directory of our members which will help support local businesses, encourage local shopping and promote on-going initiatives in the town.”

She added: “We will also use the website to promote key dates on the Ballincollig calendar such as the Garda Síochána coffee morning on 15 March at Ballincollig Garda Station with proceeds going to the Tidy Towns. This is followed by the biggest event in the Ballincollig calendar, the St Patrick’s Day parade on 17 March, starting at 3pm. The parade is the culmination of months of work by a 100 strong group of volunteers.”
