It’s smooth sailing for one Cork company as they this week announced their support for Séafra Guilfoyle and Johnny Durcan.

The sailing duo with Olympic ambitions have been given €10,000 from the National Business Machines Group, which provides workplace solutions, document technology, software and managed services.

Séafra and Johnny will soon compete in the Olympic trials in the 49er class. These will consist of three week-long regattas in March and April. They are UCC graduates and have been training together for two and a half years. They are hopeful that their passion, determination and experience will help them to succeed.

A spokesperson for the NBM group said: “Getting to the Olympics is the ultimate challenge and this Cork pair are now incredibly close and seek to grab the opportunity with both hands. The NBM sponsorship will support the ambitious duo in achieving their goal.”
