Appeal for witness after fatal collision near Kinsale

A man has died in Cork following a road traffic collision yesterday evening.

Shortly after 7pm, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a single vehicle collision on the on the R607 at Farranamoy, near Kinsale. The sole occupant and driver of the car, a male in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The body of the deceased was removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital, where a post mortem examination is due to take place at a later stage.

Gardaí in Cork are now appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic incident.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They also appeal to anyone with video footage (including dash-cam) from the area between 6.30pm and 7.15pm on 20 March to make this available to them.”
