Man dies in city collision

Gardaí are continuing their appeal for witnesses to a single vehicle collision in Cork city this week in which a man in his 30s died.

The accident happened shortly before 7am on Monday morning on the outbound lane on the Lower Glanmire Road in Tivoli, Cork city.

The sole occupant of the car, a man reported to be in his mid-30s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains were removed to CUH for postmortem.

Following the accident, forensic collision investigators carried out an examination of the scene.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling on the Lower Glanmire Road (N8) between 6.30am and 7am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
