Mallow nursing home hosting fundraiser concert this month

A county Cork nursing home is this month organising a fundraiser for a wheelchair accessible bus for residents featuring a great Irish country music singer.

Nazareth House Nursing Home has served the community in the greater Mallow area since 1932 providing quality person centered care to 120 residents. Management and staff are organising an exciting fundraising event on Sunday 21 April featuring Mike Denver in an evening concert and dance at the Hiland in Newmarket.

All funds generated from this event will go towards purchasing a much-needed wheelchair accessible bus for residents in Nazareth House.

Covid-19 highlighted both the importance and our basic need as human beings to socialise, meet people, attend events or even plan a trip.

This all stopped during lockdown and had devastating effects on many people.

We all learned and experienced the impact these lockdowns had, not being able to socialise had profound effect on everyone especially those living in care facilities including Nazareth House.

Now that normality has returned, staff at Nazareth House hope that in purchasing a bus, their residents and staff can plan and create many happy adventures, memories and journeys in the near future and the years ahead, enabling us to regain and catch up on time lost these past few years.

They ask that people support them on their fundraising initiative and become a part of our journey in creating many more journeys for the years ahead.

You can support them by purchasing a ticket to the event, by buying a ticket for the grand draw or by simply donating to the cause.

Mike will take to the stage from 4pm to 7pm followed by our grand draw and The 3 Buachaillí will perform from 8pm to 10pm. Tickets for the event are €35 plus booking fee. Raffle tickets are €10.

Every event ticket purchased includes one entry into the grand raffle for the top prize of an overnight stay for two in a deluxe room including breakfast and a round of golf for two people in The Castlemartyr Resort and there are many more exciting prizes on the night!
