The Mallow Home & Garden Festival will have experts like Peter Dowdall on hand to share their passion and knowledge in all things garden related.

Mallow fest to be awash with colour

From flowers bursting with colour to food full of flavour, this year’s Mallow Home & Garden Festival is blossoming into a great weekend.

With a surge in interest in gardening and the outdoors, accelerated by world events over the last two years, this year’s festival will celebrate the role outdoor spaces can play in promoting positive mental and physical health for the entire family.

Once again, the festival continues to organise free daily lectures and presentations. Gardening experts Peter Dowdall and Paraic Horkan will be on hand to share their passion and knowledge in all things garden related.

This year the 25 stunning show gardens will form the centrepiece of the Mallow Home & Garden Festival. The show gardens are one of the event's most popular attractions, not only as a source of inspiration, but also entertainment through imaginative garden design and interesting use of plants and garden structures to inspire you in transforming your own garden this summer.

The emphasis this year is once again on colour with lots of new and unusual flowering and foliage plants from Irish nursery suppliers including The Pavilion, Ballygarvan. The Pavilion also supply the finest gardening goods, elegant furniture and interiors, as well as an exceptional collection of specimen plants & architectural trees.

A spokesperson for the festival said: “We are also delighted to welcome back Cork Builders Providers (CBP). The CBP team has worked closely in partnership with festival organisers to produce some of the stunning landscaped gardens on display this year.

“Working in partnership with Irish business and promoting local enterprise are key ingredients to the Home and Garden Festival, and this year we have included some of our key suppliers newest ranges to showcase. You will find the latest landscaping materials with Ultra-shield Composite Decking, Cedral Wall Cladding, Elite Smartfence, Halo Italian porcelain outdoor tiles, Kilsaran Landscaping and Finbarr O’Neill Aggregates.”

The spokesperson added: “The festival gardens have also been completely transformed by Dulux whose very own colour consultant Cora Collins will be a guest speaker on Saturday offering great advice & tips on how you too can add some colour to your outdoor space.

“For all festival guests, Cork Builder Providers will have some exclusive special offers in their tent, great savings on commercial gazebos and 10% off their Smartfence range across the 3 days.”

There will be more than 200 exhibitors, covering the full range of home improvements, self-build and DIY, expert interior and garden design advice and local artisan food producers.

“There truly is something for all tastes. Add in our seminars on the latest energy trends, flower and plant demonstrations, this is a great event for everyone,” concluded the spokesperson.
