Wildlife walk to honour bird lover Julian
A special walk to honour the memory of a well-known West Cork wildlife enthusiast will be held on Sherkin Island this weekend.
Taking place this Saturday from 10.45am to 2.pm, the walk, in memory of the late Julian Wyllie, will be guided by Aisling O'Sullivan of Cork Nature Network and Magnus Burbanks of BirdWatch Ireland.
Julian Wyllie was a passionate supporter of both Cork Nature Network and BirdWatch Ireland and was a beloved member of the community on Sherkin Island. He was known for hosting numerous wildlife and birdwatching tours and was a prolific author, having co-authored ‘Birds through Irish Eyes’ with Anthony McCeehan.
He was known for his boundless enthusiasm for wildlife and his generosity in sharing his knowledge.
Cork Nature Network and the West Cork Branch of BirdWatch Ireland are organising the walk to celebrate Julian's legacy and to express their gratitude for his contributions to the community and the field of ornithology.
