Hola Galeón Andalucía
A unique replica of the legendary Spanish galleons that sailed the world's oceans for three centuries has arrived into Cork.
Galeón Andalucía is in Ireland for the first time and Cork city is its first port of call.
The ship will open its decks to the public for the first time on the island and in the city from 22-25 May at Custom House Quay, from 10am-8pm.
A spokesperson for the Galeón Andalucía said: “Did you know that among its creaking timbers the Galeón Andalucía tells the story of the legendary Spanish galleons of our time? You can climb aboard and learn how the adventurous sailors of yesteryear sailed and lived! Cork will be the first port in Ireland to be visited by the Galeón Andalucía and the first time it visits the island. Visit the floating museum with an exhibition in which you can visit five of its decks.”
They added: “We recommend to all the public to book their tickets now on the website of tickets.velacuadra.es not to miss this fantastic vessel! Schools and associations should schedule their visit by sending an email to the following address ecampos@velacuadra.es.”
