New name reflects evolution as a national organisation
A bold new chapter is how those behind Ireland’s leading advocacy organisation for lesbian, bisexual and queer women have described it’s new rebrand.
LINQ Ireland, formerly known as LINC, has announced its official relaunch, unveiling a new name and vision that reflects the organisation’s continued evolution as a national organisation for lesbian, bisexual and queer women, trans and non-binary inclusive.
Established in Cork in 1999, LINC has spent close to three decades as the only dedicated organisation in Ireland focused on working with lesbian and bisexual women. A name change and new tag line Advocating for Lesbian, Bisexual and Queer Women, Trans and Non-Binary Inclusive reflects not only who they are today, but also their deep commitment to standing with all members of their community.
Kate Moynihan, LINQ Ireland manager said: “At a time when anti-trans rhetoric, misinformation, and political attacks are on the rise—both here in Ireland and around the world—it’s more important than ever to stand together. The relaunch includes a refreshed visual identity, an expanded national focus and renewed goals around inclusion and advocacy. LINQ Ireland continues to offer a wide range of programmes and supports, including community drop-ins, health promotion, educational outreach, advocacy, training, and cultural events.”
The relaunch was celebrated with a special event in Cork on 22 May marking the 10 year anniversary of Marriage Equality with the Lord Mayor Dan Boyle and guest speakers Minister Jerry Buttimer, Senator Laura Harmon and poet Julie Goo.
