Help to design a new park
Cork City Council is planning a new park in the north west of the city and wants your input.
The proposed park will cover around 116 hectares (287 acres) of public open space, just 2.25km from Cork city centre. It is located north of Kilmore Heights and south of Lower Killeens Road.
Creating a city park in this area is a key deliverable in the Cork City Development Plan 2022–2028. The park will provide space for recreation, support local biodiversity, and become a valuable green area for residents. Its development will take place in phases, depending on land availability and funding.
Cork City Council is asking residents what they would like to see in the park. The public’s feedback will help shape the Masterplan.

The project team has already engaged with local communities and groups to understand their needs. Early feedback has guided the design team in exploring ideas and identifying what matters most to residents.
Input from public sessions and the survey will feed into the Masterplan, which will outline the full design of the park. An Implementation Strategy is also being prepared to ensure the park is delivered in stages over the coming years.
This is your chance to help shape the future of a major green space in Cork. Share your ideas and make your voice heard!
