Artist Nadja Lana, whose work will be launched at Sea Church on Friday, as part of a series of exhibitions designed to offer local artists a place to showcase their work.

Free exhibition space for artists in seaside village

A new initiative will be launched tomorrow, Friday, to support local artists and allow them showcase their work free of charge.

Art at Sea Church will provide artists with a platform to exhibit for a chosen period of time. Visitors will be able to view their work during normal opening hours, in a well-lit and professionally presented setting. Should artworks be sold, Sea Church will not take any commission; instead all proceeds go directly to the artist.

Sea Church is a restaurant and event space in Ballycotton. To celebrate this new initiative, Sea Church will hold a launch event for its opening artist, Nadja Lana at 6pm on Friday. German-born Nadja, now based in East Cork graduated with a diploma from the renowned Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, one of the most prestigious art schools in Europe. Nadja’s style combines fine drawing, painting, and a strong conceptual approach, often exploring themes of identity, nature and transformation.

Oliver Falter, General Manager of The Flynn Cush Hospitality Group, and curator of Art at Sea Church said: “We feel this is a simple yet powerful way for us to give a bit back to the fantastic arts community in East Cork. We understand how difficult it can be for artists to make a living, so we are thrilled to be able to offer Sea Church as a free exhibition space.

“The entire project is designed as a charity initiative to support artists in Ireland by offering them visibility without any financial barriers. We are delighted to have someone of the calibre of Nadja as our first exhibitor, and we know it’s a sign of great things to come, given the level of talent in the area.”

Artists can apply for the upcoming exhibition slots, which will be available from December following Nadja’s show.

Applications can be sent directly to info@flynncush.com. To find out more about Nadja Lana, visit nadjalana.com.
