Wishing her a whole Lottie luck

A Cork teenager has been chosen to represent Ireland at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

14 year old Lottie O’Driscoll-Murray has been chosen following a nationwide talent search and a thrilling televised competition. Lottie will perform the brand-new Irish-language ballad ‘Rúin’ (Secrets) live from Tbilisi, Georgia on Saturday 13 December, competing against entries from 17 other countries, including Spain, France, Portugal, Italy and reigning champions Georgia.

Lottie secured her place on the international stage after emerging victorious in the final of TG4’s five-part ‘Junior Eurovision Éire’ series, which saw ten finalists selected from hundreds of young performers across Ireland. Eurovision legend Niamh Kavanagh was on the judging panel that made the crucial decision to put Lottie through to the studio heats, with Linda Martin casting one of the deciding votes to secure Lottie's place in Junior Eurovision history.

Voting for this year’s Junior Eurovision is open worldwide through JESC.TV – and unlike the senior competition, fans are allowed to vote for their own country. Lottie and her family already have the entire county of Cork behind them and are hoping for the support of the whole country as well.

A seasoned performer, Lottie has been captivating audiences since childhood, with standout performances on ‘The Late Late Toy Show’ and at Cork Opera House. Her powerful vocals and stage presence are inspired by legends like Whitney Houston, making ‘Rúin’ – an emotive and soaring ballad – a perfect match for her voice. She’s also a familiar face at local charity events, using her talents to give back to the Cork community.

This marks a triumphant return to the competition for Lottie, who reached the final selection stage in 2024 before narrowly missing out to Kilkenny singer Enya Cox Dempsey.

“She’s back, better than ever – and she’s definitely going to do it! She's going to win!” said proud grandmother Charlotte, who, along with Lottie’s mother Celine, has supported her journey from the start.

Laura Ní Cheallaigh, Commissioning Editor, TG4 said: “We wish Lottie every success in Georgia and encourage everyone in Ireland to support her in the final in Tbilisi on 13 December, which will be broadcast live on TG4 worldwide.”
