Solicitors open third Cork office in Carrigaline

This week a Cork firm opened its third office in Cork’s largest town to cope with rising the demand in the area.

On Monday O’Dowd Solicitors opened a new office in Carrigaline and unveiled a refreshed easy-to-understand website. The firm also has offices in Fermoy and Glanmire.

Carrigaline is one of the State’s ‘youngest’ large towns - a key indicator of sustained local growth and service demand.

“South Cork has changed dramatically in the past five years. Our Carrigaline office brings specialist legal expertise closer to where clients live and work - with the clarity, pace and personal service people expect,” said Michael O’Dowd, Managing Partner.

“The new website makes it easier to get answers and move matters forward, fast.”

Growing legal need

More civil cases are moving through Ireland’s courts: new civil filings rose to 184,000 in 2024 (up from 170,000 in 2022), while 148,120 civil cases were completed according to Courts Service of Ireland - adding pressure for timely, local representation.

Property activity remains high despite tighter supply: Ireland recorded 48,780 residential sales in 2024 (down slightly from 2023 but still elevated), sustaining steady demand for conveyancing and related advisory work as per CSO.

Family law volumes remain significant, with thousands of domestic-violence applications and care-order matters processed annually, underscoring the need for accessible, community-based legal support.

The Irish legal market is dynamic and expanding: 12,175 practising certificates were issued by end-2024; most practices are small to mid-sized - a segment where O’Dowd competes by pairing local access with specialist depth.

South Cork’s broader economic momentum, from population expansion to ongoing investment, is reshaping client needs and expectations. O’Dowd’s three-location footprint positions the firm to serve households and SMEs across commuter belts and business corridors with clear advice, transparency, and efficient progress.

“People want straight answers, realistic timelines and zero surprises on costs,” O’Dowd added. “Our expansion and website relaunch are about delivering that experience consistently across Cork.”

The Carrigaline office offers convenient access for South Cork clients across family law, property & conveyancing, wills & probate, personal injury, and commercial/agri-property.

The new website boasts plain-English service pages, quicker contact options, and clearer next steps for first-time and returning clients.
