Bursary scheme designed to support collaboration

The Teaching Council recently announced that Owenabue Educate Together National Schoolin Carrigaline, is one of 27 schools around the country to receive funding under its Féilte Bursary Scheme2025.

The bursary scheme is designed to support collaboration between schools and enhance teachers’ professional learning. In total, the Teaching Council hasawardedfunding of €126,000 to schools across Ireland. Owenabue Educate Together National Schoolwill receive €2,000 for their project, to collaborate with Carrigaline Educate Together National School and Douglas Rochestown Educate Together National School, to strengthen inclusive teaching and learning through a Peer Observation for Inclusion project.

“The Teaching Councilis proud to support this work, and we are pleased to confirm that the scheme’s funding has increased from €100,000 last year to €126,000 this year.

Owenabue Educate Together National School’s successful application proposes to engage teachers in a structured programme of peer observation, reflection, and collaboration. Through school visits, shared reflection, and collaboration, teachers will deepen their understanding of inclusive pedagogy.

The project aims to build a sustainable professional learning community across the three schools, a shared Inclusion in Action digital resource, and enhanced teacher confidence in inclusive practice.
