Registration is now open for Ocean to City – An Rás Mór 2026 which takes place in Cork Harbour in May.

Crews from across Ireland and around the world will descend on Cork for the event which will see participants navigate Europe’s largest natural harbour before finishing in the heart of Cork city.

The race, which draws hundreds of boats and thousands of spectators each year, will once again welcome a diverse fleet of traditional fixed-seat boats including currachs, skiffs, gigs and longboats — alongside ocean rowing shells, kayaks, canoes, dragon boats, and stand-up paddleboards.

From elite crews racing for podium positions to community and club teams taking on the challenge together, the event attracts competitors of all levels from home and abroad.

Participants can choose from four race distances: the 28km Ocean Course from Crosshaven; the 22km City Course following a shorter route from Crosshaven; the 13km Monkstown Course; or the 4km Youth Course from Blackrock.

Early Bird entry rates are available until 13 March, after which standard fees apply. Crews are encouraged to register early.
