Yellow there pretty little sunflowers
Calling all creches, pre-schools and primary schools, your help is needed.
Marymount University Hospital & Hospice is asking you to host a Hospice Sunflower Fun Day this June to raise funds to support their services as part of the Hospice Sunflower Days campaign.
The initiative is running as part of Together for Hospice’s Hospice Sunflower Days campaign which is now in its 36th year. Every euro raised locally, stays locally and all funds raised through the Fun Day initiative & the Hospice Sunflower Days campaign will be used to support the delivery of specialist palliative care in hospices as well as palliative home care throughout the country.
Enid Conway, Fundraising & Marketing Manager, Marymount University Hospital & Hospice, said: “We are delighted to once again run our Hospice Fun Day initiative as part of our Hospice Sunflower Days campaign. We are calling on as many schools, pre-schools and creches as possible from all across Cork to get involved and help us make a difference to hospice care in the area.”
To join, select a date in June to host a Hospice Sunflower Fun Day, register on sunflowerdays.ie, receive your welcome pack and you’re all set for fun!
The welcome pack will include colouring pages and sunflower seeds for the children to enjoy planting during the fun day.
Families are asked to make a €2 donation on the day, or whatever they can afford, and all funds will go directly your chosen hospice.
Together for Hospice represents 24 hospice and specialist palliative homecare providers supporting patients and their families across Ireland. These services provide free-of-charge care and support to those living with a life-limiting illness, while also offering assistance to the patient’s family members. Hospices nationwide need to raise approximately €20 million each year to provide their patient centred care and as our population ages, demand for specialist hospice and palliative homecare services continues to grow.
