West Cork's Carbery Group expand US operations
West Cork food company Carbery Group has announced the acquisition of the US flavour business Prinova.
The move will expand Carbery’s business in the US, where it trades as Synergy Flavours.
Prinova is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the NAGASE Group and a leading global supplier of ingredients and premix manufacturing solutions.
Carbery CEO Jason Hawkins said the company is excited about the potential from the acquisition.
“This will be a great addition to the Synergy business portfolio, and gives us a broader offering for our customers.
“We will continue to diversify our business to deliver value for shareholders, service and innovation for our customers and to retain and grow our excellent global team,” he said.
Synergy US CEO Kevin Collins said it was a great opportunity for Synergy US to add to its business and customer offerings.
“The acquisition builds on our existing capabilities in our flavours business and creates the ability to support long-term growth across a multitude of categories.
“Our expanded team’s flavour expertise and capability will help our customers to achieve their strategic growth ambitions.
“I know our shared commitment to creating a positive culture will enable us to work closely with our colleagues in Prinova to ensure a coordinated and smooth transition for all customers,” he said.
Carbery group is based in Ballineen, West Cork. It is owned by four co-operatives, Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh, and Lisavaird, and employs 1,049 people, with 1,127 local farmer suppliers.
