New sporty EV hatchback arriving soon
The newest EV brand in Ireland has revealed the specs and price for its latest model.
Arriving on Cork forecourts next month, the Leapmotor B05 C-Hatchback is positioned to become one of the best-value electric hatchbacks on the market. Joining Leapmotor Ireland’s rapidly expanding EV lineup, alongside the T03 city car, B10 SUV, and C10 family SUV, B05 embodies the brand’s ‘Value Without Compromise’ philosophy by offering premium EV technology at an accessible price point.
B05 represents an ambitious step into the C-segment hatchback market, offering a premium experience at traditional B-segment prices:
Style version (entry level): Starts from €28,998 (inclusive of SEAI grant and VRT rebate). Features a 56.2 kWh battery with a WLTP range of up to 401km.
Design version: Starts from €32,984. Features a 67.1 kWh battery with a WLTP range of up to 485km.
Leapmotor B05 arrives packed with high-quality features and advanced technology across 2 distinct trims. Style features a wide-body coupe-inspired silhouette, frameless doors, hidden handles, a blade-style lighting signature, 19 inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and 21 ADAS safety features. Design adds eco-leather upholstery, ambient lighting, heated front seats, and a dedicated launch control mode.
With class-leading proportions including a 1,880mm shoulder width and a drag coefficient of just 0.26, the B05 is perfectly suited for Irish roads. Inside, B05’s interior is anchored by a dual-screen cockpit featuring a 14.6" floating infotainment display and an 8.8" digital cluster, serving as the high-tech centrepiece of the cabin, powered by Leapmotor's latest operating system, Leap OS 4.0 Plus.
Performance is equally impressive, with a high-efficiency electric motor delivering 218hp and 240Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The B05 has been specifically tuned to meet European driving expectations.
It features a rear-wheel-drive architecture, perfect 50:50 weight distribution, and MacPherson front/multi-link rear suspension. Both battery variants are supported by ultra-fast DC charging via its innovative Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) architecture, enabling a quick 30-80% charge in around 17 minutes.
The integrated Leapmotor app enables full remote access to key vehicle functions, including climate control, charging scheduling, vehicle status monitoring, and digital key functionality, ensuring a fully connected and intuitive user experience.
