Bidding Ewe adieu after 33 years
A sculpture garden in West Cork is hosting a final farewell after 33 years of marrying art and nature on the Mizen peninsula.
Due to enthusiastic demand, the Ewe Experience gardens in Glengarriff will welcome visitors each weekend during July and August, as well as on August Bank Holiday Monday.
Said to be Ireland's only interactive and interpretive sculpture garden, the Ewe Experience was created by artist Sheena Wood and her writer husband, Kurt Lyndorff.
Set to the soothing rush of the garden’s waterfall, the experience offers an educational and thought provoking walk through beautiful woodland where visitors encounter the many wonders of Sheena’s interactive pieces.
Though Sheena and Kurt had announced that last summer would be the Ewe’s final season, popular demand and a number of charity causes close to their hearts has prompted one final goodbye opportunity.
All donations made to the two wishing wells in the gardens will be doubled by The Ewe Experience. The funds raised in this final season will go to support Bridge Street Community café in Bantry, Kenmare Special Needs, and MSF Doctors Without Borders relief work in Gaza.
There will also be a half-price sale on Sheena’s art in the Riverside Art Gallery.
The Ewe Experience gardens in Glengarriff will be open from 10am-6pm each weekend in July and August and August Bank Holiday Monday.
