It's all about Cork!

A new exhibition showcasing a collection of original framed lino prints has opened in Mayfield Library.

Photographer and printmaker Emma McCarthy of Ger Mac Photography has called her exhibition ‘All lines lead to Cork’. The framed lino prints were created from photographs captured around Cork city and county.

She said: “The exhibition explores the journey from photograph to print, with each piece beginning as an original photograph before being carefully translated by hand into a lino print. Through this traditional printmaking process, familiar scenes are reimagined, revealing new textures, contrasts, and perspectives.”

Visitors to the exhibition will experience a curated collection of original framed lino prints and insight into the creative process from photograph to finished print.

She added: “‘All Lines Lead to Cork’ celebrates the intersection of photography and traditional printmaking, inviting viewers to experience familiar landmarks transformed through the timeless craft of lino printing.”

The exhibition will take place at the Mayfield Library for the month of July.
